Evanoff Dental Builds New Office

Evanoff Dental Builds New Office

Dr. Karl and Deidre Evanoff were introduced to r.o.i. Design by Dixon Architecture and First Companies.

Evanoff Dental’s previous location in Muskegon didn’t allow for growth or the level of service and care they desired to provide their patients.

From the beginning, it was clear that they wanted a simple and clean design that looked professional but now “showy”. They wanted all their patients to feel comfortable and welcome.

The color palette was neutral but included some warm wood tones and hints of blue.

Some of r.o.i. Design’s favorite features include:

  • Painted board and baton siding in the reception area.
  • Textured and blended carpets.
  • Ceiling details in the exam hallways.
  • Ceramic light fixtures.

Evanoff Dental moved into their space in 2022. Now their patients have a place where they feel comfortable and welcome. When talking to Dr. Karl about the project, he commented,  “Things are going very well. I am very happy with the outcome. Thanks for all your help.” We appreciate working with you as well.

Vos Glass Moves into New Offices and Fabrication Plant

Vos Glass Moves into New Offices and Fabrication Plant

Vos Glass started making plans in 2020 to build a new headquarters that would allow them to grow their business, expand their showroom, and improve their fabrication and distribution center.

Our previous relationships with Vos Glass, as a designer and customer, and with the architect Ken Watkin of Architectural Concepts, made for a smooth integration to interior design. We worked directly with John Turner, President of Vos Glass, and Dennis Moomey, Prefabrication Leader. Dennis was also the construction manager for this project.

The design criteria for this project could be summarized as clean, contemporary, flexible, inspiring, and within the Vos Glass Brand.

The finished product delivered these criteria with some notable features:

  • Polished concrete floors throughout.
  • Very well-lit spaces.
  • Tall ceilings.
  • Showcasing glass everywhere. Their office area is on display for customers to see a variety of glass installations.
  • Mindful use of Vos Glass’ brand red color in paint, carpet, and acoustical baffles.

r.o.i. Design visited Vos Glass shortly after they moved in and spoke with Dennis about the process and outcome. He was kind enough to say, “It was fun working with you folks.” We can say, “Vos Glass it was great to work with you, too.”

– Edit 8/29/24:

In June 2024, the entire r.o.i. Design team took a “field trip” to visit some of the completed jobs we designed. One of the stops was Vos Glass. It was enjoyable to re-engage with the customer and see in person how the project turned out. We toured the facilities with John Turner, the President & Owner of Vos Glass, and he gave us a great customer testimonial:

R.O.I. transformed our new building into an inviting, functional space that perfectly meets our needs. Their attention to detail and creative vision exceeded our expectations, making the entire design process seamless and enjoyable. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend R.O.I. for any commercial interior design needs.

Pantone Color of the Year 2023

Pantone Color of the Year 2023

When it comes to the color of the year, there are a lot of experts and a variety of opinions. In September, we reported on Sherwin Williams’ Color of the Year, Redend Point SW9081. Benjamin Moore announced its choice for Color of the Year,  Raspberry Blush 2008-30 on October 12.

Pantone, widely recognized as one of the authorities on color and color trends, recently announced its Color of the Year. For 2023, Pantone has chosen Viva Magenta 18-750, which it describes as “a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength.”

As interior designers, we recognize color trends and how they affect many industries, including fashion, industrial design, packaging, and interior design. These color trends announced by Pantone usually are seen first in the fashion industry. Each project we work on is unique, and color selections are based on many factors. We try not to let color trends dictate our design choices, but are aware of their influence on the entire industry.

GivingTuesday – Treetops Collective

GivingTuesday – Treetops Collective

GivingTuesday is November 29, 2022.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Wolverine Building Group and r.o.i. Design are working with Treetops Collective to remodel their building at 906 Division. Treetops is a cross-cultural movement that connects with and invests in New American women leaders in West Michigan. This will be the location of their offices, services, and community-building. Aaron Jonker, Co-President of Wolverine Building Group, reached out to r.o.i. Design for our design help and we have embraced this group and their vision. We have been working with them to provide interior design services at reduced rates, and have engaged our architectural and engineering friends to help.

Treetops Collective has two campaigns that we are promoting for this year’s GivingTuesday:

Capital Campaign for Building Renovation

This Giving Tuesday, Wolverine Building Group and r.o.i. Design are joining forces to raise funds to cover the plumbing costs in the catering kitchen and bathrooms at the cross-cultural community center Treetops Collective is creating in their building at 906 Division Ave S. Our two firms have already invested our skills into this space because we believe that West Michigan as a whole will benefit from a community center like this one.

Readers for New Americans

Treetops Collective is currently engaged with and supporting 80 families that have newly immigrated to West Michigan. They have a goal to get Beginning Readers into each of these homes to build English language literacy.

Sherwin Williams announces their choice for Color of the Year 2023

Sherwin Williams announces their choice for Color of the Year 2023

When it comes to the color of the year, there are a lot of experts and a variety of opinions. But Sherwin Williams announced Redend Point SW9081 as its choice for Color of the Year 2023.

Their website says “Bring home the warmth and intrigue of Redend Point….This color is a soft neutral that is highly flexible and imparts a cozy warmth and natural earthiness to any space”. This color is a warm blend of rose and clay and is on track with the finishes we have seen at NeoCon and in the palettes of current product lines.

Benjamin Moore will announce its choice for Color of the Year on October 12.

Behr Paint has announced their choice of “Blank Canvas” DC-003, which looks like it sounds, warm white.

If you would like to experiment with color, check out the Color Wheel at Canva and find your favorite color combination, and learn more about color theories. https://www.canva.com/colors/color-wheel/
