What was once the Kobe Japanese Steakhouse in Grandville is now the transformed home of West Michigan Dermatology. The 13,000-square-foot building underwent an extensive renovation by First Companies, converting the former restaurant into a modern medical office with a private patient waiting area, MOHS surgical center, skin revitalizing center, exam rooms, and administrative spaces. Additional square footage was added to accommodate a pathology lab, call center, surgical open office, and break room.
Inspired by a calming lakefront cottage, r.o.i. Design created a soothing interior palette of blue, aqua, gray, cream, and white. Customer care was a top priority, with special attention given to the greeting and check-in experience. Notable design details include a lobby carpet reminiscent of water meeting sand, a faux skylight at the entry, custom millwork, and a uniquely designed open office desk for the surgical team that supports collaboration and functionality.
