DIRECTOR OF PROCUREMENT

ROI Design I Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid)

ROI Design is seeking a Director of Procurement to lead procurement projects from design to installation. This role is ideal for a professional who is skilled in sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain optimization as well as team and client leadership.

The Role

You will provide leadership for the team specific to procurement projects, leading and coaching the team in all phases of the procurement process including bidding and budgeting, purchasing and fulfillment, shipping, receiving, installation, and servicing. 

This role requires a skilled professional with experience in sourcing, vendor management, cost control, and supply chain optimization to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials, furniture, products, and finishes. The Director of Procurement collaborates closely with design and project management teams to align purchasing with project goals, client expectations, and company standards, while driving quality, team performance, efficiency, and innovation in the procurement process.

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For 

  • Full lifecycle project delivery leadership on procurement projects in alignment with our company’s mission and values
  • Primary client relationship management
  • All aspects of procurement management and resale job administration
  • Oversight of procurement sales, design, and client relations
  • Customer research and face-to-face sales and networking
  • Creation and implementation of product selection, documentation, quality control, and budgeting processes
  • Creation and tracking of purchase orders
  • Production of proposals, bids, drawings, and presentations, selections and specifications
  • Supervision and leadership of procurement staff
  • Oversight of project, warehouse, and product management, including inspection and tracking of all products
  • Active management of project budgets, inventory, schedules, and profitability
  • Oversight of cost estimating and coordination with construction partners
  • Maintaining consistent project documentation and communication standards

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Fine Arts, Architecture, Business Management preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in business management preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of furniture and the procurement process
  • Research skills and ability to think critically through problems
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate verbally, graphically, and in writing
  • High emotional intelligence, project management skills and leadership ability

 

Tools + Technical Experience

  • CET
  • Adobe Suite
  • Google Suite
  • Microsoft Suite
  • CRM experience
  • Autodesk CAD + Revit, preferred
  • Sketch-Up, preferred
  • in Interior Design, Fine Arts, Architecture, Business Management preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in business management preferred
